thepostcard.shop is a small postcard publisher. We make cards for people who still own a pen. Each collection is a set of drawings with one idea behind it, and every card has a blank back, because the writing is your part.
Tikat, Collection 01
Tikat (टिकट) is Hindi for both a ticket and a stamp. Collection 01 is ten cards, two each for Bombay, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi and Bengaluru. Each borrows a piece of Indian printed ephemera: a large-letter card, a platform ticket, a bangle box label, a matchbox, a seed packet.
How the cards are printed
Two to four spot-colour inks, one at a time, on 350gsm uncoated board. Each ink is its own plate, with its own grain, and one plate sits a little off register on purpose. Where there is no ink, you are looking at the paper. Cards are A6, 148 x 105 mm, and ship flat between boards.
